Girl On Beach – Part I

I’m going to take a big chance here. Usually, I use a photo from a “Photo A Day” challenge I took back around 2013 to inspire a topic and Scripture reference for the week. I still want to do that, but this week, I want you to take the lead.

I’ve already written Girl on Beach – Part II, which I’ll post on November 3. In that post I’ll share what this photo, along with God’s Word, means to me.

You don’t have to use Scripture, but if a verse or two comes to mind, I’d love to see them. I look forward to hearing from you and I’m sure all my readers will take something away from what you share.

Please share with us in the comments section. I’ll reply to every comment. If you are reading this on Facebook, you can reply here or on the Facebook post. And if you are not a subscriber, I’d love to have you subscribe. You can do that on the website.

Thanks so much and I’ll see you in the comments and share my thoughts on the photo next week!

Today’s feature photo comes from a “photo-a-day” challenge I pursued several years ago. The photo inspires the topic. For me, the posts challenge my creativity, writing discipline, and dependence on God for His message. My prayer is that you find hope in God’s Word, and that you’ll share your hope with others.

  1. Psalm 95:5 says “The sea that He made belongs to Him, along with the dry land that his hands formed” Even though I’m not really a beach-goer much, I’m always in awe of the expanse of the ocean. It reminds me of how powerful God is, how He is in complete control and how He sustains. It also reminds that if His hands have the power to create the seas then He can surely help guide me through life! And I certainly can’t help but think of just how much he loves us when looking at this picture! We see the begining (where the waves break on shore) but can’t see the end:) Thanks for sharing Tim

    1. Thank you for sharing that Scott! I really like your insights. Your thoughts are encouraging! I had not thought about not being able to see the end of the ocean. Makes me think.

  2. “If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.” Psalm 139:9-10
The ocean is such a picture of the power of God and His amazing creation. Your picture of a stormy sea reminds me that even in the storms of life, God is there.

  3. Tim,
Love the photo! Here is my scripture which came to mind immediately. Psalm 139: 17-18

How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!
How vast the sum of them!
If I would count them, they are more than the sand.
I awake, and I am still with you. (ESV)
