Will You Take 5 Minutes?

I encourage you to do something I did when I saw this photo. I spent five minutes of quiet before God. Here are a few words that may help. If needed, just read them over and over for five minutes.

“The LORD will fight for you; you need only be still.” (Exodus 14:14, NIV)

“Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28, NASB)

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33, NIV)

“Peace I leave you, My peace I give you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, nor fearful.” (John 14:27, NASB)

“Be still, and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10, KJV)

May God bless your five minutes of quiet.

Today’s feature photo comes from a “photo-a-day” challenge I pursued several years ago. The photo inspires the topic. For me, the posts challenge my creativity, writing discipline, and dependence on God for His message. My prayer is that you find hope in God’s Word, and that you’ll share your hope with others.

  1. I felt more peaceful just looking at that beautiful picture of the swan and it’s reflection in the water! Wish I was there with it:) Thank you for the scriptures that help give rest to weary hearts and minds.

    1. Thank you Jane. Exactly! When the image came up as my next one, I remembered standing by the pond thinking, “this is the most peaceful place.” God’s word also gives us peace.
